The Founder in Her Own Words

"Bitten by the fashion bug and inspired, my love for style and beauty began at an early age as I watched my mother sew. As she would construct Barbie's fashions, I started cutting and sewing my very own baby-doll garments — to dress my dolls from head to toe.

Once I perfected the art of designing for dolls, I knew that an outfit wasn't complete unless the hair was cut and styled to perfection. So I discovered another love — hair design — and perfected it."

A Life in Cloth and Craft

A woman deserves to be dressed with intention.

Donna K. Angelette is the founder, creative director, and lead designer of DK Angelette, a luxury women's fashion house based in Baltimore, Maryland. Her training began not in a design school but in her childhood home, watching her mother work through Vogue and McCall patterns with the precision and patience of a true craftsperson. That education — intimate, hands-on, and entirely rooted in the belief that a woman deserves to be dressed with intention — shaped everything that followed.

Self-taught through practice, she built her technical skill by designing for dolls before designing for women, mastering proportion and construction at miniature scale before translating that mastery to full garments. She also understood, early and intuitively, that a garment is never complete on its own — that the woman wearing it must be finished from every angle, including from the crown of her head. This insight led her to develop equal expertise in hair design, making her among the rare creative figures who can dress and style a woman completely, from the hem of a gown to the last detail of her hair.

DK Angelette, the house she founded, is the full expression of that dual vision: a luxury atelier offering original ready-to-wear collections, bespoke tailoring, personal styling, and hair artistry under one roof. The F/W 2026 line, KEEE, is her most personal collection to date — a celebration of mothers and daughters, of the love that is passed down through watching and learning and the quiet inheritance of a craft.
